Gautam Gambhir: Two titles, clean sweep 3 times… Team India’s deteriorating graph in the era of ‘Guru Gambhir’

Team India, which has emerged as the strongest force in T20 cricket in the last 3-4 years, has had to face a surprising defeat. Such a defeat, the story of which was written within just 72 hours and before these 72 hours, there was no inkling or idea or expectation of it even for a moment in anyone's mind. Ireland, a small cricket country, defeated Team India in the T20 series. Not just defeated but made a clean sweep of the two-match series 2-0. Ireland not only made its own history with this victory, but also spoiled the graph of the Indian team, which has fallen at different levels during the last two years during the tenure of coach Gautam Gambhir.

Whatever was not thought, happened in critical times.

When in Belfast on 26 June When Ireland defeated Team India When it lost in the first match, it was the first time that it had won against India in any format. But even then hardly anyone would have thought that after 2 days the Irish team would oust the current T20 World Champion (2 times in a row). But this happened and this result is as bad as the Test series defeat by South Africa last year and New Zealand the year before that. Or perhaps worse.

Ever since (July 2024) Gautam Gambhir became the coach of Team India, Team India has played a different kind of cricket and has seen strange results. He transformed the Indian team into a force in white ball cricket, especially in the T20 format. The player on whom the bet was made was correct. Asia Cup and T20 World Cup 2026 are proof of this success. Team India has not lost any T20 series in last 2 years, this is also proof of that. Also, the success of Champions Trophy 2025 (ODI title) is like icing on the cake.
