Vozinha, the Cape Verdean goalkeeper who drew significant international attention after his impressive display in his country's goalless draw with Spain during the 2026 World Cup, has been offered to Ceará as a potential signing for the remainder of Brazil's Série B season.

Nevertheless, according to ge, the transfer is not expected to materialize. This is despite the efforts made by the representatives of the 40-year-old shot-stopper to facilitate a move. The Ceará board, for its part, has demonstrated no interest in acquiring his services and has not even initiated any preliminary discussions.

At present, the club is focused on bringing in new players under the direction of coach Daniel Paulista, but the coaching staff believes that the goalkeeper position is already adequately filled. The current options available to the black-and-white side between the posts are Richard, Bruno Ferreira, Gustavo Martins, and Jorge Meurer.

Vozinha, whose full name is Josimar José Évora Dias, first gained worldwide notice through his performance in Cape Verde's opening match of the World Cup tournament, which is being hosted in the United States. Prior to that event, he was playing for GD Chaves in Portugal's second division, where he featured in 19 matches during the 2025/26 season.

His professional career has also included spells in the domestic leagues of Cape Verde, Angola, Moldova, Cyprus, and Slovakia.
