Bhopal. Another big step is being taken towards promoting clean and green energy production in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate solar parks with 500 MW capacity in Neemuch and 450 MW capacity in Shajapur on June 29. Along with this, they will also sign a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the 440 MW capacity Morena Solar Plus Storage project. Union New and Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi and State New and Renewable Energy Minister Rakesh Shukla will also be present in the program.

Additional Chief Secretary New and Renewable Energy Manu Srivastava said that during the program organized in Bhopal, the power purchase agreement of 440 MW capacity Morena Solar Plus Storage Project will be signed in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and Minister Rakesh Shukla. This is the first solar energy storage project of Madhya Pradesh. The tender for this project has been received at the rate of Rs 2.70 per unit, which is considered to be among the lowest rates in the country.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi will formally inaugurate the 500 MW solar park at Neemuch and the 450 MW solar park at Shajapur on Monday. The average rate of electricity generation in both these projects has been Rs 2.14 per unit, which is counted among the lowest electricity rates in the country. This will significantly help in providing cheap and clean electricity in the state.
Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Energy Development Corporation, Amit Tomar said that on this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi will also perform bhoomi pujan and inauguration of various industrial units and other development projects costing about Rs 1593.98 crore. These projects will increase industrial development in the state along with new employment opportunities.
With the commencement of these projects in Neemuch, Shajapur and Morena, renewable energy production will get a new impetus in Madhya Pradesh. Increasing use of solar energy will boost clean power production and will also create a strong identity for the state in the energy sector.
