A tragic truck accident occurred late Monday night on National Highway 62 in Bikaner district, Rajasthan, resulting in the death of a truck driver who was burned alive, while two others sustained serious injuries. The incident took place around 1 AM in the Jamsar police station area.
Initial reports indicate that a violent head-on collision between two trucks led to both vehicles catching fire. The flames spread rapidly, preventing the driver of one truck from escaping the cabin, ultimately leading to his death.
Witnesses and police described the crash as extremely severe, with immediate ignition of both trucks. The fire quickly escalated, completely engulfing one of the vehicles.
Local residents promptly alerted the police and fire department. Firefighters arrived on the scene and worked diligently to control the blaze.
Due to the extensive burns, the identity of the deceased truck driver has not yet been established.
Authorities are currently working to identify the driver using the trucks' registration numbers, chassis numbers, and records from the transport company.
The two injured individuals were initially taken to the government hospital in Loonkaransar.
Given their critical condition, they were later referred to the PBM Hospital in Bikaner (Trauma Center) for advanced treatment, where they are currently under the care of specialist doctors.
The fire and debris from the trucks caused significant traffic congestion on National Highway 62 in both directions.
Police later utilized a crane to remove the damaged vehicles, restoring normal traffic flow.
