Even as rain is expected in several districts, temperatures remained high across parts of Tamil Nadu. Cuddalore recorded the highest maximum temperature at 102.2°F, followed by Vellore (102.02°F), Puducherry (100.76°F), Tiruttani (100.58°F), Chennai-Meenambakkam and Nagapattinam (100.4°F each), Chennai-Nungambakkam (100.22°F), and Parangipettai (100.04°F).
The weather department has also warned of squally winds reaching speeds of up to 60 kmph over the south Tamil Nadu coast, the Gulf of Mannar and the Kanyakumari Sea. Fishermen have been strongly advised not to venture into these waters until conditions improve.
