AC Milan have officially announced the signing of Portuguese striker Gonçalo Ramos, who has penned a deal with the club that runs until June 2031.
The Serie A heavyweights confirmed the arrival of Portugal international Gonçalo Ramos through an official statement released on Tuesday.
“AC Milan today announced the signing of Gonçalo Matias Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain FC,” read the statement issued by the club.
“The Portuguese forward has agreed to a contract with the club valid until 30 June 2031.”
Born in Olhão on 20 June 2001, Gonçalo Ramos developed his footballing skills at the youth academies of S.C. Olhanense and S.L. Benfica. He made his senior debut for Benfica in 2019, going on to record over 100 appearances and 41 goals. His performances helped Benfica capture the Primeira Liga title in the 2022/23 season, establishing him as one of Portugal’s brightest young talents.
Sources in Italy suggest that the total cost of the deal could reach up to €80 million, including potential add-ons. True to their usual practice, the Rossoneri have not disclosed the exact transfer fee.
“In the summer of 2023, he joined Paris Saint-Germain FC, where he continued to perform at the highest level in European football,” Milan’s statement added.
During his spell with PSG, Ramos collected an impressive list of honours, winning three Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France trophies, three Trophée des Champions, two UEFA Champions League titles, one UEFA Super Cup, and one FIFA Intercontinental Cup. He scored 45 goals across 131 matches for the Parisian club.
Since making his senior international debut for Portugal in November 2022, Ramos has become a regular for his country. He has represented Portugal in two FIFA World Cups and played a key role in their UEFA Nations League triumph during the 2024/25 season.
“AC Milan welcomes Gonçalo Ramos and wishes him the very best as he begins his journey with the Rossoneri,” the club’s statement concluded.
Currently, Ramos is representing Portugal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He will join Milan’s new head coach Ruben Amorim once the tournament and his subsequent holidays conclude.
The 24-year-old forward has scored ten goals in 26 appearances for the Portuguese national team.
Milan are expected to continue strengthening their squad this summer, with particular emphasis on reinforcing the central defence and midfield positions.
The Rossoneri will begin their Serie A campaign with an away fixture against Torino on 23 August.
