There has been a big change in the field of education in Uttarakhand. In fact, after ending the old system of Madrasa Board, the Dhami government has now started the Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated this authority in a program organized at the Chief Minister’s residence. On this occasion, he also gave recognition certificates to various minority educational institutions, which has marked a new beginning for education in the state.
In fact, Chief Minister Dhami said that Uttarakhand is not only the land of Gods, but also a land with a rich tradition of knowledge, education and spirituality. For centuries this holy land has given the message of knowledge and values to the world. In such a situation, it is the responsibility of the state to become a better example for the country in the field of education. With this goal, the state government has established Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority from July 1, 2026 to provide better, modern and culture-based education to all sections of the society. This decision is a big step towards abolishing the Madrasa Board and implementing a new and comprehensive system.
This step of the government is not just the beginning of a new institution, but it is a big decision laying a strong foundation for a better future for every child of the state. The Chief Minister said that the aim of the government is to provide equal opportunity to every child, so that he can progress through modern education, technology and new skills. Today is the time of knowledge, new ideas and technology. Artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital technology and new skills are determining the future. In such a situation, it is important that no child of Uttarakhand is left behind in this race of development.
The Chief Minister also made it clear that the Minority Education Authority has not been established to influence the identity of any community or its traditions. Its main objective is to provide better education opportunities to all sections of the society. The government wants children to progress in science, mathematics, computers, skill development and modern education while remaining connected to their cultural roots. He said that education is not just a means of getting a job, but it is the most effective medium to make the society strong, self-reliant and aware. With better education, youth not only improve their lives but also contribute significantly to the development of the country.
Under the new system, all notified minority communities will be given equal opportunities. The Chief Minister said that those classes which did not get adequate representation in the earlier system, will now get equal opportunity in the field of education. Praising the National Education Policy-2020 implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that this policy has given a new direction to the education system of the country. This policy is not limited to degrees only, but also emphasizes on linking skills, new ideas, research, entrepreneurship and employment.
The Uttarakhand government is continuously promoting digital education, smart classes, skill development, startups and modern training, so that the youth of the state can be prepared for future challenges. The Chief Minister assured that Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority will not remain just a recognition body, but it will become a strong medium for better education, teacher training, transparent system and proper implementation of the National Education Policy.
