Former CM Channi’s show of strength in Punjab today, will prepare next plan with supporters

After the organizational changes made in Punjab Congress and the appointment of chairpersons and members of committees, many big leaders seem to be dissatisfied. While Chandigarh MP Manish Tiwari has openly expressed his displeasure on social media, many leaders are trying to put pressure on the high command from behind the scenes.

If sources are to be believed, former CM Charanjit Singh Channi has called a meeting of supporters at his house in Morinda, Ropar today. In this meeting he will prepare his next strategy. Channi's supporters and in-charges of 40 assembly constituencies can also come to this meeting. Maximum number of workers are expected to come from Malwa region of Punjab. This entire meeting is being seen as a show of strength by Charanjit Singh Channi.

Is Channi angry?

There is news of former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi's displeasure with the organizational changes made in Punjab Congress and the high command's decision to appoint chairpersons and members of the committees. Since his appointment as the Chairman of the Campaign Committee, Charanjit Singh Channi has remained silent and has also maintained distance from the media.

Congress made major organizational reshuffle before the elections

Before the Punjab Assembly elections, Congress recently made a major organizational reshuffle. Party's national president Mallikarjun Kharge announced chairpersons, co-chairpersons of various committees and working presidents of Punjab Congress for election preparations. Congress has formed various election committees regarding Punjab elections.

Former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has been made the chairperson of the campaign committee. Vijay Inder Singla will be the chairperson of the Election Management and Co-ordination Committee. The command of the core committee has been handed over to Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa. Chairperson of the Manifesto Committee has been made. Congress has made it clear that Amarinder Singh Raja Warding will remain the President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. Pratap Singh Bajwa will continue to fulfill his responsibilities as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party.
