TRIBUNPEKANBARU.COM - Pada pembahasan kali ini, kita akan mengulas kunci jawaban Bright: An English Kelas 8 halaman 15–19 Chapter 1 "I Can Speak Five Languages" berdasarkan Kurikulum Merdeka untuk buku paket Bahasa Inggris SMP/MTs Kelas VIII terbitan Erlangga.
Pembahasan difokuskan pada bagian Let's Practise yang berisi soal-soal pilihan ganda untuk menguji kemampuan siswa dalam memahami isi bacaan berbahasa Inggris.

The African elephant is the world's largest land mammal – with males on average measuring up to $3\text{ m}$ high and weighing up to $6\text{ tonnes}$. At birth, elephants can weigh $120\text{ kg}$.
Elephants use their trunks to suck up water to drink – it can contain up to $8\text{ litres}$ of water.
An elephant's skin is $2.5\text{ cm}$ thick in most places. The folds and wrinkles in their skin can retain water. It helps the elephant cool them down.
Elephants need up to $150\text{ kg}$ of food per day. They eat much that they can spend up to three-quarters of their day eating.

Today, we would like to interview Cameron, a poliglot who speaks 27 languages! Do you know about polyglots? They are people who can read, write, and communicate in 3 or more languages.
Cameron is a 14 years old, gifted teenager from Atlanta, Georgia, who is currently learning her $27"{\text{th}}$ language. What an exceptional talent!
Cameron started learning languages at the age of nine. At that time, she met a friend from Austria who felt lonely because she couldn't speak English, so Cameron learned German to help her feel less isolated. She loved the experience, and it started from there.
Cameron wants to travel the world and learn at least a hundred languages! Her favourite is the Kazakh language. She really wants to visit Kazakhstan, Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
