Southwest Monsoon has become active in entire Madhya Pradesh. Red, orange and yellow alerts have been issued in 19 districts on Saturday regarding heavy to extreme rains. There is a possibility of about 8 inches of rain in Barwani and Khandwa in the next 24 hours.
In the last 24 hours, good rainfall was recorded in more than 25 districts of the state. Two and a quarter inches of water fell in Indore, one and a half inches in Bhopal, about two and a quarter inches in Mandla and more than two inches in Balaghat. Winds blew at a speed of about 50 kilometers per hour in Sehore, Sagar, Jabalpur, Khandwa and Harda.
At present, strong winds and rain will continue in Indore, Ujjain, Jabalpur, Bhopal-Gwalior, Rewa and Sagar divisions of the state till July 7-8. The administration has appealed to the people living in low-lying areas and those going near rivers and streams to exercise special caution.
Let us tell you that between June 1 and July 3, 2026, about 13 percent less rainfall than normal has been recorded in Madhya Pradesh. Eastern Madhya Pradesh has received 35% less water than the average and Western Madhya Pradesh has received 8% more water than the average. Monsoon is expected to remain strong in July along with good rainfall.
