Vitamin D and Calcium Supplements: Changing lifestyle and adulterated food is inviting many diseases. For this reason, our bones are also becoming weak and we are becoming dependent on supplements even without wanting to.

Many times people start taking Vitamin D and calcium tablets without any medical consultation. Many people believe that by consuming these supplements daily, bones will not weaken with increasing age and the risk of fractures will also be reduced.

But, experts believe that bone health does not depend on only two things, but a balanced lifestyle, regular exercise, adequate sunlight and nutritious diet are also very important for strong bones.

Bones cannot be strengthened by supplements alone.

Doctors believe that taking Vitamin D and Calcium or any other supplements without examination and doctor’s advice is not the right way. Consuming medicines alone does not strengthen the bones nor completely eliminate the risk of fracture.

Bones are living tissues in our body, which break and rebuild again and again. Understand in simple language, if you consider your bones as a house, then according to him, calcium and Vitamin D are like bricks and cement of the house, but if the craftsmen who build the house do not have a strong foundation and regular care, then just bricks and cement do not make the house strong.

Why is it dangerous to take supplements without consultation?

Despite abundant sunlight available in India, Vitamin D deficiency is quite common. But this does not mean that every person should take supplements daily. Taking supplements on social media or on the advice of others can be harmful. Get yourself tested first and start taking Vitamin D or calcium supplements only after consulting your doctor.
