Delhi government has made a major administrative reshuffle in the Finance and Accounts Department. 52 officers working at the same place for 5 years or more have been transferred with immediate effect. These include 23 Deputy Controller of Accounts and 29 Senior Accounts Officers. Along with this, by increasing the scope of responsibility of skilled officers in the department, 19 senior accounts officers have been promoted to the post of Deputy Controller of Accounts. The government has made this change with the aim of further strengthening transparency, accountability and efficiency in the administrative system.
According to the Delhi government, as per the instructions of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, these transfers and appointments have been made purely for administrative needs and for the purpose of promoting honesty and transparency in the system. To make the functioning more efficient, the government has assigned new responsibilities to 23 Deputy Controllers of Accounts and 29 Senior Accounts Officers.
Rekha Gupta has clarified that the aim of the Delhi government is to establish such an administrative system, which meets the highest standards of transparency, accountability, efficiency and good governance. He said that there is no room for laxity, negligence or corruption at any level in the governance system. This major administrative reshuffle in the Finance and Accounts Department is part of this thinking.
The Government believes that timely decisions, effective financial management and accountable administration will bring more speed in the implementation of government schemes and the public will be able to avail the benefits of services in a more transparent and efficient manner. In this sequence, instructions have been issued to all the concerned officers to join their new offices with immediate effect.
