Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal starrer 'Welcome to the Jungle' is maintaining a good hold at the box office in the second weekend. After the release of Yash Raj Films' big budget spy thriller 'Alpha', the film's screen size definitely decreased, but its impact on earnings was less than expected. Thanks to the strong earnings of the first week, the film has crossed the Rs 100 crore nett mark at the domestic box office in just 9 days. The strong support of the family audience and the popularity of the franchise still seem to be in favor of the film.
On the second Saturday i.e. the 9th day of release, 'Welcome to the Jungle' did a net business of around Rs 7.35 crore in India. If compared with the earnings on the 8th day (second Friday), there has been a huge jump of 63.3 percent on the 9th day (second Saturday). On the second Friday, the film had earned Rs 4.50 crore. With this the total domestic net earning of the film reached Rs 105 crore. At the same time, the gross collection in India has been around Rs 125.02 crore. The film performed in approximately 5,792 shows on the second Saturday.
The film performed brilliantly in the first weekend and did a net business of Rs 63.75 crore. The film's highest earning on Sunday was Rs 24.75 crore. There was a general decline on Monday, but on Tuesday there was an increase in the collection again. Despite a slight decline on Wednesday and Thursday, the film ended the first week with Rs 93.15 crore nett.
The film is getting good response in the domestic market as well as abroad. Till the 9th day, the film has earned around Rs 29.95 crore gross from the overseas market. After this, the total worldwide gross collection of 'Welcome to the Jungle' has reached Rs 154.97 crore.
This film of director Ahmed Khan is the new installment of 'Welcome' franchise. More than 30 actors including Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani are seen in the film. The story revolves around a cast who are mistaken for real military troops in a remote forest, leading to a series of humorous and action-packed events.
