Ayyoub Bouaddi has become one of the standout young stars of this summer’s World Cup, with the Moroccan midfielder drawing the attention of several of Europe’s biggest clubs.

At only 18 years old, the Lille prodigy has impressed on the global stage, playing a key role in Morocco’s journey to a thrilling World Cup quarter-final clash against France.

As speculation over his future grows, here’s a look at the five clubs currently leading the chase for Bouaddi’s signature.

Real Madrid are reportedly keeping a close eye on Bouaddi after his outstanding performances at the tournament. Jose Mourinho’s new-look Madrid project is already taking shape, with the club having secured Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries, Bernardo Silva, and Marc Cucurella. With that experienced core in place, the Spanish giants may now seek to invest in a player with long-term potential. Toni Kroos and Luka Modric have yet to be fully replaced, and Bouaddi could be the ideal candidate to fill that void as one of football’s brightest emerging midfielders.

Manchester United have identified midfield reinforcements as a top priority this summer but have so far failed to land their main targets. With Elliot Anderson joining Manchester City and Mateus Fernandes opting for Tottenham Hotspur, United are now searching for alternatives. Given Bouaddi’s mature displays at the World Cup, he already appears ready to make an immediate impact at the Premier League level.

Paris Saint-Germain are eager to keep Bouaddi within Ligue 1, although Lille would prefer a move abroad. While the French champions already boast a wealth of midfield quality, Bouaddi’s performances have caught their attention. PSG view him as a potential long-term asset who could strengthen their domestic dominance and European ambitions.

Arsenal are also in the market for another midfielder to complement Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi. The North London side have made enquiries for Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes, but Bouaddi—ten years younger than the Brazilian—would represent a forward-thinking investment. The Gunners have reportedly held talks with Bouaddi’s representatives, though the teenager’s market value continues to rise following his impressive outings in North America.

Manchester City currently sit as joint-favourites to secure Bouaddi’s services. Enzo Maresca’s main focus this transfer window is rebuilding his midfield after Bernardo Silva’s exit and uncertainty surrounding several senior players. With Rodri entering the final year of his contract and expected to depart in 2027, Bouaddi has been identified as his potential successor. A season under Rodri’s mentorship could provide the young Moroccan with invaluable experience alongside a Ballon d’Or winner.
