According to a recent report from The Guardian, Manchester United are keen on signing Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos. The report suggests that the Red Devils are preparing to make a move for the Brazilian midfielder this summer, although they would likely need to pay around £50 million to secure his transfer to Old Trafford.

Santos delivered an impressive season for the West London club, producing several strong performances in the Premier League. The 22-year-old featured in 43 matches across all competitions for the Blues last season, scoring three goals and providing four assists.

Widely regarded as one of the brightest young midfielders in the Premier League, Santos has caught the attention of several top clubs. Therefore, Manchester United would be making a smart move by trying to finalise a deal for him during this transfer window.

The Brazilian midfielder is currently under contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2030, which could make it challenging for United to negotiate a lower transfer fee later in the year.

Santos is known for his tenacity in midfield, showing a strong ability to tackle and intercept play. He also demonstrates composure when under pressure, distributing the ball efficiently from central areas. His accurate passing and solid defensive instincts make him a well-rounded option in the middle of the park.

In addition to his defensive contributions, Santos has the capability to contribute offensively by scoring and setting up key goals. Primarily a box-to-box midfielder, he can also operate as a holding midfielder when required. Having already adapted to the pace and physicality of the Premier League, transitioning to life at Old Trafford should not pose a major challenge for him.

For Michael Carrick’s Manchester United, Santos would inject additional energy and drive into the midfield unit. His blend of work rate, technical skill, and tactical awareness could make him a strong contender for a regular starting spot at the Theatre of Dreams next season.

At just 22, Santos’s potential remains immense, making him an appealing prospect for the Manchester club as they look to strengthen their squad. Securing his signature this summer could prove to be a strategic move for Carrick as he continues to shape his team for the future.
