What is the PM Yashasvi Scholarship Scheme?

The PM Yashasvi Yojana is a scholarship scheme launched by the Central Government and administered by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance for education to students from economically weaker families. It offers support for expenses such as fees, books, stationery, and other study-related costs, thereby alleviating the financial burden of education on families.

How much financial assistance is provided?

Under the scheme, students in classes 9 and 10 receive an annual scholarship of ₹75,000. Meanwhile, students in classes 11 and 12 receive assistance of up to ₹1,25,000 per year. Additionally, financial aid is provided to students pursuing higher education or vocational courses to cover tuition fees, book costs, hostel charges, and other education-related expenses. In some cases, expenses for boarding and lodging, as well as essential educational materials like laptops, are also provided.
