Now there is no need to wait for the traffic police on the roads, because smart cameras are now monitoring your vehicle every moment. As soon as you break the rules, these cameras will capture all the details of your vehicle and the challan will reach you directly. Legal experts say that now violating the rules can be very heavy on your pocket.

Fines and jail: What are the new rules?

Under the new rules, the punishment for mistakes has been made quite stringent:

• License ignored: If you do not follow the rules to driving license, you may have to pay a fine of up to Rs 10,000.
• Fast Speed: There is a fine of Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 for driving dangerously or at excessive speed.
• Underage Driver: If a minor is caught driving, the vehicle owner will have to pay a hefty fine of Rs 25,000. Along with this, the registration card (RC) of the vehicle will also be cancelled.
• Invoice payment deadline: Now you will get only 90 days to pay the challan. If the fine is not paid within the stipulated time, your vehicle will be ‘blacklisted’. Once the vehicle is blacklisted, you will neither be able to get its fitness test nor pollution test (PUC).

Getting driving license now very easy

Amidst the bad news, the government has also given a relief news. Now to get a driving license you will not have to visit RTO nor will you have to give any test there. Now you can go to any recognized private driving school and give the test. The cost of getting the license is also very low – you will have to pay only Rs 200 each for both learning license and permanent license.
