In the ongoing investigation into the alleged misappropriation of donations for the Ram Mandir, authorities have discovered new financial clues. According to police reports, the suspect, Avinash Shukla, revealed during interrogation that he had spent approximately ₹1.9 million on his family members and friends. Investigators allege that Shukla spent around ₹600,000 on his brother's wedding celebration and provided ₹500,000 to ₹600,000 to another brother. Additionally, it was found that he purchased a car worth ₹350,000.

Sources indicate that Shukla allegedly transferred about ₹250,000 to a friend and gifted him an expensive mobile phone. Investigators also claim that smaller amounts were distributed among several other individuals.

Previous Seizures and Allegations

Earlier, police seized ₹2.039 million in cash, $1,121 in US currency, gold and silver jewelry, other valuables, and an SUV from Shukla. Investigators allege that the Maruti Brezza SUV was purchased using funds misappropriated from the temple donations and was registered under Shukla's brother Abhishek's name to conceal ownership. Following a court order in Ayodhya for further questioning, these items were recovered during Shukla's 24-hour police remand. During this remand, investigators took the suspect to various locations to reconstruct the alleged conspiracy and verify evidence related to the case.

Background of the Case

The case of alleged embezzlement of donations for the Ram Mandir first emerged on June 7, sparking political controversy.
