Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a big step towards providing better health facilities to lakhs of workers and their families in the state. The Cabinet of Yogi Government has approved the proposal to provide land for setting up ESIC Medical College in Varanasi and modern ESIC Hospital of 100 beds each in Moradabad and Gorakhpur.

ESIC Medical College will be built in Varanasi

According to the cabinet decision, about 13 acres of land will be provided free of cost to the Employees State Insurance Corporation for the medical college in village Pindra of Pindra tehsil of Varanasi. A medical college will be developed here by expanding the already operating ESIC hospital. The project is estimated to cost approximately ₹800 crore. Here students will get a new opportunity to study MBBS, in future nursing and paramedical courses can also be started here.

100 bed modern hospital to be built in Moradabad

Government land will be made available for the establishment of a 100-bed ESIC hospital in Harthala village of Moradabad. With the opening of this hospital, about 93,591 insured workers of the district and more than 3.55 lakh of their dependents will get the benefit of quality health services.

Gorakhpur got the gift of health facilities

A 100-bed modern ESIC hospital will also be established in Gida Sector-9 of Gorakhpur. For this, land will be made available at concessional rates, so that the project can be completed quickly. After the construction of the hospital, thousands of workers and their families of eastern Uttar Pradesh will be able to get better treatment facilities in their own area.

New employment opportunities will also be created

The commencement of these three projects will not only expand health services but will also create large-scale employment opportunities for doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, technical staff and other supporting services. There is a possibility of promotion of employment at local level during construction work also.
