Real Madrid are reportedly intensifying their pursuit of Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise as they look to make a statement signing ahead of Jose Mourinho’s second stint at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Olise has been one of the key targets on Real Madrid’s radar this summer, with club president Florentino Perez eager to mark Mourinho’s return with a marquee addition. The Spanish giants have already been active in the transfer market, securing four major signings in just a few weeks as part of their summer rebuild.

Although Perez has not publicly confirmed any specific player targets, Olise was understood to feature prominently in his re-election campaign as a symbol of his ambition to maintain control of the club for a combined 23 years across two separate terms.

The French international has enjoyed a career-best season with Bayern Munich, producing exceptional performances that have caught the attention of Europe’s elite clubs. Despite speculation linking Olise with Real Madrid, both clubs have publicly dismissed claims of any direct communication regarding a potential transfer.

Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer reinforced that stance, stating that the only conversation he had with Real Madrid officials was to deny any suggestions of behind-the-scenes discussions. Hainer also issued a warning to Perez, advising him to “save himself the effort” if he was considering a bid for Olise, following reports that Real Madrid were weighing up an offer in the region of €150 million.

However, new reports have surfaced suggesting that last season’s La Liga runners-up are now ready to present a staggering financial proposal for the former Crystal Palace winger. According to Fichajes, Real Madrid’s latest offer would total €190 million upfront, with an additional €30 million in performance-related bonuses, bringing the total potential cost close to Neymar’s world-record €222 million transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.

Olise’s form this season has been nothing short of spectacular. The 24-year-old has registered 25 goals and 28 assists in 57 appearances, leading Bayern Munich to their second consecutive Bundesliga title. His influence has been instrumental in the club’s domestic success and their deep run in European competitions.

Currently, Olise is also playing a central role for France in the World Cup, with the team having reached the quarter-final stage, where they are set to face Morocco. His outstanding performances on both club and international stages have solidified his reputation as one of football’s most sought-after talents.

Jose Mourinho’s return to Real Madrid adds another layer of intrigue to the situation, as the Portuguese manager is renowned for demanding high-profile signings to strengthen his squads. Should the deal go through, it would not only redefine Real Madrid’s attacking lineup but also challenge Neymar’s record as the most expensive transfer in football history.
