New revelations are being made every day in the Ram Mandir donation theft case. Now in this matter, trustee Mahant Dinendra Das Maharaj has made a big claim while talking to TV9 Bharatvarsha. He said that 'in the conversation people said that resignation has been given. The treasurer has the responsibility, but he remains outside. I had refused to accept Champat Rai's resignation, then all the members said that he has resigned so it should be accepted, then we agreed. Gopal Rao and Anil Mishra used to do transactions. I was the one who said that Gopal Rao's responsibility should be fixed and he should be removed. The treasurer should take names, but he did not take anyone's name, then I had to speak.
At the same time, in this matter, former General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Champat Rai said on Tuesday that he will answer all the allegations against him only after the final report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on the allegations of theft of donations of Ram Temple comes. In a letter addressed to Ram devotees, Champat Rai said that many discussions have been taking place since June 7 regarding the alleged theft during the counting of donation boxes in the temple and many people have made baseless allegations against him personally. He said that he had considered it appropriate to remain silent until the investigation continued.
Referring to the recent meeting of the Trust, Champat Rai said that the preliminary report of the SIT has now been made public. He said, 'After the final report is presented by the SIT, I will answer all the allegations made point by point. The truth will be revealed to everyone.
Champat Rai, defending his public life, said that he was deputed to Ayodhya by the organization in October 1991 and he has been working there since then. He has served as a preacher for 45 years. He has written in the letter, 'Wherever I have served, my life has been like an open book'.
His statement came a day after Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust accepted the resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra amid the controversy over alleged theft of temple donations. The Trust has clarified that as soon as the resignations were accepted, both the trustees were relieved from their posts. At the same time, in this case, the court has given one day remand of three accused Luvkush Mishra, Anukalp Mishra and Karunesh Pandey to Ayodhya Police. These are the same three accused from whose possession a large amount of cash has been recovered.
