Filling these vacancies will address staff shortages, enhance passenger safety, and improve railway services.

This recruitment drive under the Ministry of Railways covers 35 different technical categories, including posts such as Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant. The drive aims to fill positions that have remained vacant for a long time.

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) will release the official notification on July 21, 2026. Once the notification is issued, candidates will have access to full details regarding application dates, eligibility criteria, age limits, and the selection process.

According to railway data, the highest number of vacancies—845—exists in the Permanent Way department. Additionally, there are 470 vacancies in the Works department and 450 in the Carriage and Wagon department. Filling these posts will alleviate staff shortages across several departments.
