India leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has found himself in serious heat after he bowled three no- balls in the second T20I versus England, and honestly that kinda thing, it really mattered for India’s loss. He came back to India’s T20I group after about six months, doing so during the England series.
This return, came after a bit of a tough IPL 2026 campaign. In that second match, the bowler conceded 60 runs in his four overs, and there was a nasty moment too, a 17th over that cost 29 runs. That spell helped England shift the momentum and then lock in a dramatic win.
Now, as criticism keeps piling up, Bishnoi’s childhood coach has tried to explain what’s actually behind the no-ball trouble. The coach said the core problem is linked to changes in Bishnoi’s overall bowling set up—like his action, his run-up, and even the release point. After that rough outing, India left him out for the third T20I. He has to fix these issues fast, but to be clear, it’s not going to be simple.
Speaking to The Times of India, Bishnoi’s childhood coach, Shahrukh Khan , said that the bowler’s run up has changed, while his bowling arm now comes through much straighter at the moment of release . He added that the current action looks quite different from Bishnoi’s earlier technique , though. Even so the coach also stressed that Bishnoi has struggled to put these technical adjustments on autopilot, consistently, which makes it tougher to completely tackle the issue.
Ravi Bishnoi’s coach stated: “His run-up has changed slightly and his bowling arm is coming through much straighter at release, which is very different from his previous action. He is receptive to feedback, but unable to implement changes consistently. In nets, he often bowls with his old action, but in matches he reverts to muscle memory. That has become a major obstacle.”
Bishnoi had a rough spell from the instant he came into the attack in the second T20I against England. As soon as he bowled his first over in the fourth, he overstepped and delivered a no-ball, then also conceded 11 runs. His second over, which arrived right before the end of the powerplay, was the most economical , because he gave away just eight runs, including a wide and a boundary. After that, he leaked 12 runs in his third over, before having a nightmare finish at the end.

In the last over of his spell , the 17th over of the innings, Bishnoi conceded 29 runs off eight deliveries, and somehow the swing went properly into England’s side. During that spell he also bowled two more no-balls , let three sixes go, two doubles as well as a four ,and it felt like the whole thing turned fast. Jacob Bethell sprinted beyond his half-century and England basically got the chase under full control.
Before this match , Ravi Bishnoi had last turned up for India in a T20I way back in January. This year so far, he has managed only three wickets across two T20I innings . In IPL 2026 , the leg-spinner featured in nine of Rajasthan Royals’ 16 matches ,then ended the season with 11 wickets.
