Horror as woman dragged by 4 men into field and gang raped while drunk husband passed out

A woman was allegedly dragged into a field before being gang raped. Police have confirmed four men have been arrested following the attack while a further investigation is ongoing.

It's reported the victim was on her way home from a local market when she was approached by the men. Her drunk husband had passed out on the roadside before the gang allegedly dragged her to a nearby field and raped her. Following the attack, the men reportedly threatened the woman in a bid for her not to report what had happened.

As reported by the Times of India, the alleged gang rape took place in the Surajpur district of Chhatisgarh on Saturday, June 27. The woman fled the attack before reporting what happened to police two days later.

Local officers launched an immediate investigation before arresting four suspects. They remain in custody and will appear in court at a later date.

According to local reports, the woman was returning home from a market when her husband passed out. She was then approached by a gang of four men before being dragged to a field and raped.

After threatening the victim, the men fled the scene of the attack. The woman then reported being gang raped to police two days later before they tracked down the attackers.

The woman's husband had reportedly consumed kosna on the day of the attack. The traditional fermented rice beer is consumed by communities in central and northeastern Indian states like Chhattisgarh
