Dubai International Airport (DXB) is all set to welcome huge crowds in July 2026. Around 30 lakh passengers are expected to arrive during this period, due to which there will be a lot of hustle and bustle at the airport. To make the journey of passengers easier, the airport has started using its special preparations and new technology.
The number of passengers will be very high in the first fortnight of July. The peak rush is expected on July 12, when more than 2.25 lakh people will travel in a day. An average of 2.65 lakh passengers will pass through the airport every day during peak hours. To handle this, Dubai Airports, along with its partners, has implemented a Summer Readiness Plan.
The airport has implemented AI based ‘Smart Travel Ecosystem’ for the convenience of passengers. It was used by 94 lakh passengers in the first half of 2026, of which more than 90 lakh completed immigration through the smart gate. In this, due to ‘Travel Without Borders – Red Carpet’ service, the time taken for immigration has reduced from 12.5 seconds to just 3.4 seconds. This biometric system can process 10 passengers simultaneously without any paper or help from officials. Now children above 12 years of age will also be able to use the smart gate.
Security checking has now been made easier than ever. Thanks to new AI security scanners, passengers will no longer need to remove laptops or liquids from their bags. More than 100 hand-luggage machines are being upgraded in the year 2026, many of which have already started functioning. Dubai Airports Chief Executive Paul Griffiths said that with this technology, passengers will not have to worry about taking off shoes or opening luggage and security will also be better than before.
Travellers, especially expatriates and frequent travellers, have been advised to reach the airport at least 3 hours before their flight. To save time, use the online check-in, self-service kiosks and bag drop facilities, available at Terminal 3. Additionally, for convenience, DUBZ service can be used for check-in and luggage delivery from home.
