Agra. Maulana Mohammad Iqbal, Khatib of Masjid Naharwali, Sikandra, said in his Friday sermon that every serious, positive and constructive initiative to spread the message of the Holy Quran to the entire humanity is welcome. He said that the Quran is a book of guidance not only for Muslims but for the entire human race, hence efforts to convey its message globally should be encouraged.

Maulana Iqbal said that it is a remarkable initiative from Iran’s side to recite selected verses of the Quran before the delegations of various countries who had come to attend the funeral of its leader. He said that such efforts send the message that the teachings of the Quran can be presented effectively and positively on the global stage.

He said that any good work should be evaluated rising above sectarian or religious differences. If any initiative is helpful in spreading the message of the Quran and its humanitarian teachings to the people, it should be supported and encouraged.

Referring to the current international circumstances, Maulana Mohammad Iqbal said that Muslim countries should face challenges with mutual unity, intelligence and foresight. He said that rising above Shia-Sunni differences and giving priority to the common interests and unity of the Ummah is the greatest need of the hour. This will further strengthen the prestige and influence of Muslim society at the global level.

He said that the political and diplomatic scenario of the world is changing rapidly. In such a situation, Muslim countries should prepare a better strategy for the future through mutual cooperation, dialogue and wise decisions.

At the end of the sermon, Maulana Mohammad Iqbal prayed that Allah Almighty grants Muslim rulers the right understanding, foresight and the ability to take decisions in the larger interest of the Ummah. Amen.
