Weather Update: Mild Temperature Rise and Rain Forecast in Delhi

New Delhi: A slight increase in minimum temperatures was recorded in the national capital on Saturday, with light rain expected. The Safdarjung weather station reported a minimum temperature of 26.6 degrees Celsius, which is 0.7 degrees below the normal range but 0.8 degrees higher than Friday's readings.


At other weather stations, Palam recorded a minimum temperature of 24.5 degrees Celsius, showing a 0.1-degree rise compared to the previous day.


The temperature at Lodhi Road was noted at 26.2 degrees Celsius, which is 0.5 degrees higher than Friday's minimum. Meanwhile, the minimum temperatures at Ridge and Ayanagar were recorded at 23.5 degrees and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively, which are 0.6 degrees and 1.4 degrees lower than the previous day.


The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has not issued any weather alerts for Saturday. However, there is a possibility of rain and cloud cover throughout the day.


An IMD official stated, 'There is a chance of very light to light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning during the morning hours.' The department also mentioned that cloudy conditions may persist over the next few days.


Despite this, there are no forecasts for rain in the upcoming week. According to IMD predictions, the maximum temperature may rise, expected to be around 36 to 38 degrees Celsius.


Additionally, the air quality in Delhi remained in the 'satisfactory' category on Saturday morning. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 91 at 9 AM. This is an increase from the 24-hour average AQI of 65 recorded at 4 PM on Friday, which also fell within the 'satisfactory' range.


AQI ratings are categorized as follows: 0-50 is 'Good', 51-100 is 'Satisfactory', 101-200 is 'Moderate', 201-300 is 'Poor', 301-400 is 'Very Poor', and 401-500 is 'Severe'.
