The traffic police is continuously running a campaign regarding the safety of school buses in Khandwa. In fact, on Saturday, a total of 20 buses of various schools including Macro Vision School of the city were inspected. During this time, the police officers ensured that all the necessary safety facilities were present in the vehicles carrying children. The objective of the campaign is to operate school buses as per the set standards and ensure safe travel of students.
Actually this action was taken under the leadership of Traffic DSP Anil Kumar Rai. The police team reached the school premises and checked the documents, technical condition and safety equipment of the buses. If any kind of deficiency was found during this inspection, the concerned party was instructed to make improvements as per the rules. Police say that such campaigns will continue regularly in future also.
In fact, during the inspection, the traffic police checked the fitness, valid permits, insurance, first aid box, fire extinguisher, speed governor, CCTV cameras and GPS system of each bus. Besides, the driving licenses and other important documents of the bus drivers were also seen. The officials also checked whether all the safety equipment in the buses was working properly or not. In fact, the police have instructed the bus staff to always drive the vehicle within the prescribed speed limit and under no circumstances should more children be seated than the fixed capacity of the bus.
During this campaign, the school management was also informed about the rules to the safety of children. Police officials said that regular maintenance and periodic technical check of school buses is very important. This reduces the possibility of any technical fault or accident on the way. The bus staff were also informed about taking immediate action in case of emergency and proper use of safety equipment.
In fact, during the school bus checking campaign, the traffic police laid emphasis not only on vehicle safety but also on social awareness. Oath was administered to bus drivers and staff under the “Nashe se Doori Hai Zaroori” campaign. Police clarified that it is very important for the driver who is responsible for the children to remain completely alert and drug-free. Any kind of carelessness can cause serious accidents for many families.
