Jude Bellingham’s double guided England to the semi-finals with a 2-1 victory over Norway in Miami after extra time on Sunday.
However, England manager Thomas Tuchel insisted that his side would need to raise their game if they hope to reach the final.
“We made life very, very difficult for ourselves today,” Tuchel admitted after the match.
“The result is fantastic, being in the last four is amazing, but I’m not happy with the performance.
“Once again, the commitment was there, but we complicated things unnecessarily with the way we played — sloppy passing, too many technical errors, not enough speed or consistency. We were lucky today.”
Despite his criticism, Tuchel was full of praise for star midfielder Bellingham, who produced another decisive performance.
“There’s not much left to say,” Tuchel remarked. “He does it every single match. World class.”
