Honda Jazz Facelift— Automobile company Honda has introduced a new facelift model of its famous premium hatchback car Jazz in the international market. It is sold as ‘Honda Fit’ in global markets like Japan. The company has taken this step on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of this car. However, a different strategic decision has come from the company for Indian customers.
In this new facelift model introduced in Japan, full attention has been paid to the exterior styling of the car. The company has given its Z trim variant sporty front and rear bumpers like the top-spec RS variant, which give it a very modern look with matte black finish. The flagship RS variant of this car has been launched only with hybrid e:HEV powertrain, which is a combination of 1.5-litre petrol engine and dual electric motor. Its starting price in Japan has been kept at around Rs 10.64 lakh (1,806,200 Japanese Yen).
Honda had stopped selling the third-generation Jazz in India in 2023 due to poor demand and stringent emission standards. Due to the declining sales of cars in the premium hatchback segment in India and the increasing popularity of the SUV segment, the company has changed its strategy. To strengthen its position in the Indian market, Honda is currently increasing its focus on compact SUVs and its new electric vehicles in the coming times. Therefore, Indian customers may have to wait longer for this new facelift model or will have to turn to existing compact SUV options.
