Name of new Redmi revealed, may be launched with MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC

Redmi’s upcoming smartphone : Recently, an unknown Redmi smartphone with model number “2607FRNEAG” was spotted on Singapore’s IMDA certification database. Whose name has been revealed. Thanks to Polish tipster Kacper Skrzypek, the upcoming smartphone will be codenamed “Redmi 17C 5G” via the Geekbench listing database.

Actually, the tipster shared the screen grab of the Geekbench listing of this smartphone. In which model number “2607FRNEAG” is visible. Although the name is not directly mentioned on the listing page, the source code of its Geekbench listing has revealed the name “Redmi 17C 5G”. Its codename is “Tornado”. The same codename has also been used for the Redmi 15C 5G (also known as POCO C85 5G).

The tipster claims that the upcoming Redmi smartphone could probably be a rebranded version of these smartphones. Additionally, the listing also confirms that the upcoming phone could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC as it appears to have the same core architecture with two cores clocked at 2.40GHz and the remaining six cores clocked at 2.00GHz. The database also mentions a variant with Android 16 operating system and 4GB RAM for this upcoming device.

In terms of performance, the Redmi 17C 5G smartphone has achieved a single-core score of 729 and multi-core score of 1,692 on the Geekbench 6.7.1 benchmark platform. According to the tipster, it could come as a rebranded version of Redmi 15C 5G or POCO C85 5G, which means its specification sheet could also be the same. You can read more about it below.
