Police arrested two vicious criminals who escaped after snatching mobile phone in broad daylight, recovered 5 mobile phones and Activa.

Amidst the ever increasing incidents of mobile snatching in Indore, Kanadia police station has got a big success. In fact, the police have arrested two such accused who used to target people walking on the road, especially women, and snatch their mobile phones and run away. Five mobile phones and an Activa Scooty have been recovered from both of them. According to the police, the total value of the seized goods is around Rs 2.5 lakh.

During interrogation, the accused have admitted to being involved in incidents of mobile snatching in many areas of the city. At present, the police is trying to find out from both of them how many incidents they have committed so far and through which network they used to sell stolen mobiles.

Mobile snatching case solved due to informer’s information

Actually, according to the police, on July 7, a woman was waiting for an auto near the Chhota Rajbada statue. Meanwhile, two youths who came on Activa snatched the mobile from his hand and fled from the spot. After receiving the complaint, Kanadiya police station registered the case and started investigation. A special team was formed under the leadership of police station in-charge Saharsh Yadav, which examined the recordings of several CCTV cameras in and around the incident site. In the footage, one accused was seen in a red hoodie and the other in a white T-shirt.

After this, on the basis of technical investigation, activities of the suspects and information received from informers, the police raided Mayur Nagar and Musakhedi areas. Sunny Tuteja and Ajay Bankhede were arrested from here. Police said that both the accused are residents of different districts of Madhya Pradesh and were committing crimes while living in Indore. During the arrest, the looted mobile phone and the Activa used in the crime were also recovered from them.

Police investigating the entire snatching network

After the arrest, the police has started interrogating the accused. Investigation revealed that both the accused were preparing to sell the mobile phones at a low price after snatching them. Police are also finding out who were the people in contact with them and to whom the stolen mobile phones were delivered. Apart from this, their records are also being matched with the cases of mobile snatching registered in other police station areas of the city.
