Tomato ketchup is commonly used with samosas, pakodas, french fries and parathas. But very few people know that it can also become an excellent cleaning agent for the kitchen. The natural acids present in ketchup can help in removing dirt and blackness from the metal surface.
With time, a black layer starts accumulating on copper utensils, due to which their shine fades. In such a situation, apply tomato ketchup on the surface of the vessel and leave it for about 20 minutes. After this, clean it with a soft cotton cloth soaked in warm water. This can bring back the shine of copper utensils to a great extent.
House door handles, decorative lamps and many other items are made of brass. With time these also start turning black. In such a situation, apply a small amount of tomato ketchup, leave it for some time and then wipe it with a clean cloth. This can make the brass surface appear cleaner and shinier.
Silverware and utensils sets lose their shine when exposed to air. To clean them, apply a thin layer of ketchup and wipe it gently with a soft cloth after about 5 minutes. This can help in removing grime and increasing shine.
