Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav interacted with the young tourist friends of Nirbhaya Fund assisted STDW project in “My Youth-My Pride Conclave-2026” organized at Brilliant Convention Center, Indore. In this dialogue, all the important topics like services provided by Tourism Sakhis, souvenir making, self-defense, safety of tourists and cooperative behavior towards them were discussed. CM appreciated the work being done by the Young Tourism Sakhis.
During the conversation with CM Mohan Yadav, the Tourism Sakhis said that the Tourism Sakhis of Omkareshwar have emerged as an inspiring example of women empowerment and service. Here daughters act as the first ‘story tellers’. Provides information to devotees and tourists about the religious, cultural and tourist places of Omkareshwar.
Tourism Sakhis also told that they also work as wheelchair caregivers when needed and make a big contribution in providing easy darshan to the disabled and elderly devotees. Women tourists, devotees and elderly women are helped in different ways. The work of making replicas of Ekatm Dham and Statue of Oneness in Omkareshwar is also done by Paryatan Sakhis, which are presented as souvenirs on various occasions.
About 40 thousand girls of the state are being given self-defense training. Some of these youth also participated in My Pride Conclave-2026. The girls of Ujjain demonstrated their skills and confidence by impressively demonstrating various self-defense techniques including lathi art during the dialogue program. The objective of the training is to make the girls self-reliant, empowered and capable of facing every situation.
At the same time, the government is also emphasizing on empowering women through the support of Nirbhaya Fund and Safe Tourist Places Project. The aim of these projects is to create a safe environment for women at tourist destinations. Also, self-help groups, local communities and trained girls have to be established through a strong network.
CM Dr. Yadav has also announced to dedicate the year 2027 to the youth. During the program, he said, “There are more than 2 crore youth in Madhya Pradesh, the heartland of India. Our government will dedicate the next year 2027 to the youth power of the state. The state government is taking all necessary steps for the overall welfare of the youth and to provide maximum employment opportunities.”
