The controversy regarding transfers in Madhya Pradesh government has now gained political significance. Congress has cornered the government on this issue. Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, while targeting the Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav government, has said that now not only the opposition, but the government ministers are leveling allegations of corruption against their own government and administrative system.

He said that Social Justice and Horticulture Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha has made serious allegations against the Secretary of his own department like transfer on the basis of “interest” and alleged money transactions. The Congress leader said that if the government ministers themselves are forced to send written complaints to the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary, then it raises serious questions on the administrative system of the state.

Minister complained

An open dispute has come to light between a minister and a senior IAS officer regarding transfers in Madhya Pradesh government. Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha has sent a written complaint to Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and the Chief Secretary and has made serious allegations against Departmental Secretary John Kingsley. His allegation is that the Secretary made the transfers only as per his “interest” and completely blocked the list recommended by him.

Umang Singhar surrounded the government

The opposition has attacked the government on this entire episode. Umang Singhar said that if the government minister is making such allegations against the secretary of his department regarding transfers, then the situation can be understood. Leader of Opposition also asked questions to Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha and said that if he is angry over the non-transfer of his recommended list, then it should also be clear who was going to benefit from those transfers. He said that this also raises the question whether there is only a dispute about share between the government and the bureaucracy regarding transfers. Umang Singhar questioned Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav whether this entire matter will be investigated impartially or the allegations will be covered up as usual.

Almost a month after the closure of the transfer window in Madhya Pradesh, Social Justice and Horticulture Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha has sent a written complaint to Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and the Chief Secretary and made serious allegations against Departmental Secretary John Kingsley. They allege that the Secretary approved only the transfers of his choice, while no action was taken on the list recommended by the Minister. The complaint also said that there are WhatsApp chats and other documents to the alleged demand of money for some transfers, which have been mentioned in the complaint.
