Barcelona are reportedly willing to part ways with Ferran Torres this summer to avoid triggering an extra payment clause to Manchester City, according to The Athletic.

The 26-year-old forward joined the Catalan giants in January 2022 for an initial transfer fee of €55 million, with an additional €10 million in performance-related bonuses.

Barcelona have already disbursed €10 million to City under the add-on terms, but would be required to pay another €8 million if Torres renews his current contract.

The Blaugrana are now said to be open to selling the Spanish striker during this transfer window, preferring to cash in rather than risk losing him for free when his contract expires next year.

Paris Saint-Germain have been mentioned as a potential suitor, though no formal offer has been made to date.

Torres experienced a mixed 2025–26 campaign, registering 21 goals across 49 appearances, playing a key role in helping Barcelona retain the La Liga title and secure the Supercopa de España trophy.

However, his season was not without challenges, as he went through a goalless run of 14 consecutive matches between late January and mid-April.

Meanwhile, veteran striker Robert Lewandowski departed the club upon the expiration of his contract and has since signed with Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire.

To bolster their attacking options, Barcelona have completed the signing of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United in a deal worth €80 million, and are reportedly nearing an agreement with Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi.

In addition, the club continues to pursue Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, who remains their priority target for the number nine position.
