The second day of the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-69) organized by 15 UP Battalion NCC at Sainik PG College May, Devkali, Prayagraj, concluded in an enthusiastic atmosphere with various activities based on military training, modern technology and personality development. 660 NCC cadets participating in the camp participated enthusiastically in the training sessions conducted throughout the day.
The day started with morning physical training (PT) followed by a drill parade. Through these activities, discipline, physical ability, leadership, coordination and team spirit were developed among the cadets.
The major highlight of the day was the live firing practice, in which the cadets of Junior Division and Junior Wing got the experience of firing the weapon for the first time under the supervision of trained instructors. This training boosted the confidence of the cadets and provided them with basic knowledge of safe and responsible use of weapons.
Whereas the cadets of Senior Division and Senior Wing were provided intensive training on map reading, weapons training, technical subjects and health and hygiene, which increased their military knowledge and practical efficiency.
During the camp, a special introductory session on drone technology was also organized, in which the cadets were given basic information regarding the functioning, utility and operation of drones. On the upcoming day, practical drone training will be provided to the cadets, which will give them direct experience of drone operation.
Central Games were organized in the evening session, which encouraged sportsmanship, teamwork and physical efficiency among the cadets. After this, a training film based on Operation Red Wings was screened, through which the cadets got inspirational information about military leadership, devotion to duty, courage and values of the Armed Forces.
While giving information to the media, Camp Commandant Colonel Ritu Srivastava Rawat said that the outline of the camp has been prepared in such a way that the cadets get balanced training in military training, modern technical knowledge, physical efficiency and life-useful skills.
