At which places basil should not be planted?

To the south: According to Vastu, Tulsi should not be planted or kept in the south direction. This is considered the direction of Yamraj. It is believed that planting or keeping Tulsi in this direction increases negativity in the house. North, East or North-East direction is considered more auspicious and good for planting Tulsi plant.

In the bedroom: One should avoid planting or keeping basil in a pot in the bedroom. Tulsi is considered a symbol of worship and purity and the bedroom has nothing to do with worship.

In the kitchen: Tulsi should not be used in the kitchen. This place is full of smoke, smell and gas.

Near bathroom and toilet: It is not advisable to plant or keep Tulsi around bathrooms and toilets. This can bring negativity in the effect of Tulsi, which can increase the problems.

Near main door: Tulsi plant should not be kept exactly in front of the main door. Doing this causes 'door perforation defect'.

With thorny plants: One should also avoid planting or keeping Tulsi with cactus, other thorny and white milk plants. It is inauspicious to do so.
