Manchester United have been told to “sign one” of Bradley Barcola or Desire Doue during the upcoming summer transfer window, with club legend Dwight Yorke explaining to GOAL why a major move for one of Paris Saint-Germain’s rising forwards would be a smart investment. The Red Devils are actively seeking creative and attacking reinforcements, with several Champions League winners now appearing on the radar of Premier League clubs.

United’s hierarchy are determined to include title celebrations as part of their ambitious ‘Project 150’ initiative. The club will return to the Champions League next season under Michael Carrick, who has rejuvenated the Old Trafford side and guided them to a third-place finish in the 2025-26 campaign. His achievement has earned him a full-time two-year deal.

Having restored the Red Devils to Europe’s elite competition, Carrick’s next challenge is to solidify those gains. Ambitious blueprints are being prepared at Old Trafford, including plans for a stunning 100,000-seat modern stadium as part of the club’s long-term vision.

The ‘Project 150’ roadmap has been officially unveiled, with United openly declaring their aim to celebrate Premier League and Women’s Super League titles before reaching their 150th anniversary in 2028.

To meet those expectations, Carrick must deliver both consistency and quality. Following Casemiro’s departure on a free transfer, the club has strengthened its midfield with the arrivals of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, both of whom bring valuable Premier League experience.

Further additions are expected as United look to increase their attacking threat. Questions remain about Marcus Rashford’s future after his loan spell at Barcelona, and the addition of another skilful winger could prove crucial for the Theatre of Dreams outfit.

France internationals Bradley Barcola and Desire Doue, both currently on World Cup duty, fit that profile perfectly. With competition for starting places fierce at PSG, the two attackers may be tempted by a new challenge in English football.

When asked if United should pursue either of the PSG youngsters, 1999 Treble winner Dwight Yorke – speaking on behalf of BOYLE Sports and Sports Betting – told GOAL: “Bradley Barcola or Desire Doue. If I were Michael Carrick, I’d go for one of them. It’s that simple. They can both operate on the left or right, and adapt to whatever attacking setup you need.”

Yorke added: “If Marcus Rashford doesn’t want to stay, and nobody really knows where his head is at, then go and get Doue or Barcola. Those are the players United should be targeting. You need reliable, exciting attackers who can perform on the pitch – so go and sign one of them.”

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has hinted that PSG might be open to player exits this summer. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano explained: “Ten days ago, people were saying Barcola was untouchable and wouldn’t leave. Now I’m seeing links everywhere, so maybe Barcola isn’t that untouchable anymore.”

He further added: “My understanding hasn’t changed. Back in April, May, June, and even now in July, I’ve said Bradley Barcola could leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer. Whether he does will depend on the offers PSG receive. Interest is strong, and Barcola is not considered untouchable because he’s not negotiating a new contract with PSG.”

Reports suggest Barcola is more likely to depart than Doue, with the latter tied down to a deal until 2029, keeping his valuation high. United, meanwhile, continue to assess their transfer priorities, balancing the need for defensive strengthening with their pursuit of attacking flair. The club will have to decide whether they can afford to make a serious move for the talented 23-year-old Barcola and whether he fits into Carrick’s tactical vision for the 2026-27 season.
