Galatasaray are reportedly considering an audacious attempt to sign Manchester City’s attacking midfielder Phil Foden. The Turkish Super Lig champions are said to be ready to challenge City’s stance on the England international, who is believed to be 'open' to a new adventure following a season of inconsistent playing time at the Etihad Stadium.

Reports from Turkish outlet Fanatik suggest that the Istanbul heavyweights are determined to strengthen their lineup ahead of the new campaign, with ambitions of achieving both domestic and European glory. Their top target is said to be Foden, valued at around €70 million. The 26-year-old midfielder is understood to have reached an agreement for a contract extension with City earlier this year in May, but with no official announcement yet, his current contract is still set to expire next summer.

Club president Dursun Ozbek is reportedly keen to make a statement signing during the summer window and has granted full authority to prominent agent George Gardi to lead the negotiations. Gardi, who has played a major role in bringing several marquee players to Nef Stadium in recent seasons, is believed to have first proposed Foden as a potential signing to the club’s hierarchy.

The financial commitment required to sign Foden would be substantial given his talent, reputation, and market value. Nevertheless, the Galatasaray board is said to be willing to stretch their financial limits in pursuit of this transfer. They are expected to face strong competition, as several major European clubs are also monitoring the midfielder’s situation at Manchester City.

While Foden remains the dream signing for Galatasaray, the club is also exploring alternative options for the number 10 position. Fanatik notes that Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes is another high-profile name on their shortlist.

In addition to those two stars, Galatasaray are reportedly keeping tabs on younger prospects with strong potential. Talks have reportedly been ongoing with Eintracht Frankfurt’s rising talent Can Uzun and Brighton & Hove Albion’s Paraguayan international Julio Enciso. Both players are seen as fitting the mould of a creative attacking midfielder, yet Foden continues to be viewed as the ultimate prize by supporters eager for a marquee signing.

During the recently concluded season, Foden made 50 appearances for Manchester City across all competitions, netting 10 goals and contributing seven assists. Despite his solid club performances, he did not make the final cut for England’s World Cup squad. According to Fanatik, Foden is open to a transfer this summer, though it remains uncertain whether Fenerbahce could emerge as a surprise contender for his signature.
