A Hyderabad school has terminated a teacher after a controversy over a Class 2 Hindu student allegedly being assigned Kalma and Surah Fatiha as homework. The family claimed the religious exercise was given through the school diary and sought action.

Hyderabad: A teacher at a private school in Hyderabad has been terminated after a controversy erupted over a Class 2 Hindu student allegedly being assigned to learn the Kalma and Surah Fatiha as homework.

The incident came to light after the student's family claimed that the child, studying at The Success School in Saidabad, was instructed through the school diary to "Read 1, 2 Kalma" and "Read Fatiha." The family alleged that this was the second such instance, saying a similar instruction had previously been written in the diary before being struck off.

Following the controversy, the school issued a termination order dated July 15, 2026, dismissing Ms. Shaik Aisha Parveen, a Mother Teacher at the Saidabad branch, with effect from July 16, 2026.

The order also stated that she had been permanently disqualified from applying for employment in any institution under the Success Group of Educational Institutions in the future. The termination order bears the principal's signature and the official school stamp, along with a handwritten acknowledgment indicating that the teacher received a copy of the order on July 15, 2026.
