Puri Rath Yatra: Two people died during the Rath Yatra festivities in Puri on Wednesday, while seven others were hospitalised after a crowd surge left them feeling unwell, officials said.

According to officials, a man aged above 60 succumbed after falling ill during the crowd surge. The exact cause of his death is yet to be ascertained.

In a separate and unrelated incident, another man aged above 35 suffered a cardiac arrest and died.

The seven people who reported uneasiness during the crowd surge were promptly shifted to a hospital for treatment. Officials said the situation is currently normal.
