Questions are once again being raised regarding the functioning of the Municipal Corporation of the capital. It is alleged that in some zones, instead of authorized employees, revenue work is being done on computers by personnel associated with private or executing organizations. If these allegations are found true, it may raise serious questions on departmental rules, data security and transparency of the revenue system.

According to sources, the work of a computer operator is considered sensitive because important records to tax assessment, billing, data feeding and revenue are handled through it. Such work should generally be done by authorized employees.

Question regarding Zone-3 also

Sources claim that the responsibility of computer feeding in Zone-3 has been entrusted to clerk Rajeev Jain. However, it is also being alleged that he does not have enough technical experience for this work. For this reason, an employee of an executive organization is allegedly working while sitting on an important computer system. If so, it raises questions on both departmental process and accountability.

Questions raised on following rules

Experts say that if an impartial investigation is conducted in all the zones of the entire Municipal Corporation, then the situation of such private or outside workers working may come to light at many places. This is likely to affect the security, transparency and accountability of revenue records.

Demand for investigation raised

In this entire matter, a demand is being raised from the Municipal Corporation officials to clarify that if the revenue work is being done by an outsider, at what level the permission was given and who will be held accountable for it.
