Central Railway Sports Quota Recruitment 2026: There is good news for athletes preparing for railway jobs. The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Central Railway, has announced recruitment under the sports quota for the year 2026-27. A total of 59 posts will be filled through this recruitment drive. The application process began on July 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online until 6:00 PM on August 14, 2026.
This recruitment is open to candidates from all categories. There is no provision for separate reservation for SC, ST, OBC, or EWS categories in this sports quota recruitment.

Opportunities are available for both male and female athletes in athletics. In football, there is a requirement for players in positions such as striker, midfielder, and winger.
What is the age limit?
The minimum age for candidates is set at 18 years, and the maximum at 25 years. Age will be calculated as of January 1, 2027.
To be eligible for this recruitment, candidates must have been born between January 1, 2002, and January 1, 2009 (both dates inclusive). Importantly, no age relaxation will be granted to candidates from any category. Educational Qualifications
Educational qualifications vary depending on the post.
For Level-5 and Level-4 posts, a bachelor's degree from a recognized university is mandatory.
For Level-3 and Level-2 posts, passing the 12th standard is required. Alternatively, candidates who have completed ITI or an Act Apprenticeship course after the 10th standard are also eligible to apply.
For Level-1 posts, candidates must have passed the 10th standard and possess an ITI qualification or a National Apprenticeship Certificate issued by the NCVT.
Sports Achievements Required
Candidates' sports achievements will be evaluated based on competitions held on or after April 1, 2024.
For the various post levels, there are specific requirements regarding participation or winning medals in competitions such as the Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, World Championships, National Championships, and Federation Cups.
What is the Salary?
Selected candidates will receive a salary in accordance with the 7th Pay Commission.

How will the selection take place?
Candidates will be selected based on document verification and a trial.
For the trial, 40 marks are allocated based on sports skills, physical fitness, and a coach's assessment. Candidates must secure a minimum of 25 marks in the trial to be considered "fit."
The final merit list will be prepared based on a total of 100 marks: 50 marks for sports achievements, 40 marks for the trial, and 10 marks for educational qualifications.
What is the application fee?
Candidates belonging to the General category are required to pay an application fee of Rs 500. Eligible candidates who participate in the trial will be refunded ₹400 after the deduction of bank charges.
The application fee for SC, ST, female, ex-serviceman, minority, and economically backward class candidates is set at ₹250. This amount will also be refunded after the deduction of bank charges upon participation in the trial.
