Air India has introduced this highly useful feature to alleviate the mental and physical stress passengers face during flight disruptions. Previously, in the event of significant delays or cancellations, passengers had to stand in long queues at counters to secure hotel vouchers and accommodation arrangements—a process that caused considerable inconvenience. Now, Air India has automated this entire process through the app.
If a flight is disrupted for any reason, the new app will instantly alert passengers. Affected passengers will see options for hotel accommodation and transportation directly within the app, including transfers from the airport to the hotel. Passengers can select a hotel or generate a digital voucher based on their preference. They can also rebook onto another flight on the same route for free within the next three days or claim a refund if their travel is disrupted.
**What are the rules for hotel stays?**
Hotel accommodation and meals will be provided free of charge; this includes breakfast, lunch, or dinner alongside the stay. Passengers must present proof of identity to check into the hotel. Any expenses incurred beyond the provided accommodation and meals must be borne by the passengers themselves.
Rooms will be allocated exclusively to passengers whose names are listed in the airline's records. It is worth noting that not all airlines provide hotel accommodation, cabs, complimentary meals, or refunds in every instance of a flight delay or cancellation.
