This year, the Shravani Mela is set to begin on July 30. During the fair, hundreds of thousands of *Kanwariyas* (pilgrims) arrive from far and wide at Baidyanath Dham to offer holy water. Pilgrims often face significant challenges during this period, particularly due to the massive overcrowding on trains. Preparations are already underway to ensure a smooth experience for *Kanwariyas* and other travelers. To this end, the Railways has announced special trains for the Shravani Mela; specifically, two pairs of special trains have been announced.
The Railways has informed that, for the convenience of devotees attending the Shravani Mela, two pairs of special trains will be operated between Ranchi and Bhagalpur via the Koderma-Tilaiya-Nawada-Sheikhpura-Kiul-Jamalpur-Sultanganj route. The details are as follows:
Train No. 08690/08689 Ranchi-Bhagalpur-Ranchi Shravani Mela Special
This train will run two days a week via the route: Bokaro-Gomoh-Koderma-Tilaiya-Nawada-Kiul-Jamalpur-Sultanganj. Train No. Train No. 08690 Ranchi-Bhagalpur Shravani Mela Special will operate every Sunday and Wednesday from 26.07.2026 to 09.09.2026. Departing from Ranchi at 17:40, it will arrive at Bhagalpur at 06:30, stopping en route at Muri (19:00), Bokaro Steel City (20:25), Chandrapura (20:58), Gomoh (21:25), Parasnath (21:45), Hazaribagh Road (22:13), Koderma (22:45), Tilaiya (01:06 next day), Nawada (01:28), Warisaliganj (01:46), Sheikhpura (02:08), Lakhisarai (02:40), Kiul (03:25), Abhaipur (03:55), Jamalpur (04:50), and Sultanganj (05:25).
On the return journey, Train No. Train No. 08689 Bhagalpur-Ranchi Shravani Mela Special will operate every Monday and Thursday from 27.07.2026 to 10.09.2026. Departing from Bhagalpur at 09:10, it will reach Ranchi at 22:20, halting at the following stations: Sultanganj (09:35), Jamalpur (10:15), Abhaipur (10:40), Kiul (11:40), Lakhisarai (11:52), Sheikhpura (12:25), Warisaliganj (12:48), Nawada (13:06), Tilaiya (13:30), Koderma (15:40), Hazaribagh Road (16:10), Parasnath (16:33), Gomoh (17:05), Chandrapura (18:53), Bokaro Steel City (19:35), and Muri (20:38). This special train will consist of one AC-3 Tier coach, seven Sleeper Class coaches, and six General Class coaches.
Train No. 08646/08645 Ranchi-Bhagalpur-Ranchi Shravani Mela Special
This train will also run two days a week via the Barkakana-Hazaribagh Town-Koderma-Tilaiya-Nawada-Kiul-Jamalpur-Sultanganj route. Train No. Train No. 08646 Ranchi-Bhagalpur Shravani Mela Special will operate every Monday and Friday from 27.07.2026 to 11.09.2026. Departing from Ranchi at 17:30, it will reach Bhagalpur at 06:30, stopping en route at Barkakana (19:10), Hazaribagh Town (20:22), Koderma (22:40), Tilaiya (01:06 next day), Nawada (01:28), Warisaliganj (01:46), Sheikhpura (02:08), Lakhisarai (02:40), Kiul (03:25), Abhaipur (03:55), Jamalpur (04:50), and Sultanganj (05:25).
On the return journey, Train No. 08645 Bhagalpur-Ranchi Shravani Mela Special will operate every Tuesday and Saturday from 28.07.2026 to 12.09.2026. Departing from Bhagalpur at 09:10, it will reach Ranchi at 21:40, stopping en route at Sultanganj (09:35), Jamalpur (10:15), Abhaipur (10:40), Kiul (11:40), Lakhisarai (11:52), Sheikhpura (12:25), Warisaliganj (12:48), Nawada (13:06), Tilaiya (13:30), Koderma (15:40), Hazaribagh Town (17:38), and Barkakana (19:10). This special train will consist of one AC 3-Tier coach, 13 Sleeper Class coaches, and four General Class coaches.
