Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said paper leaks have devastated countless families and called for a complete overhaul of India's examination system to ensure fairness and security for students. Referring to the alleged suicide of NEET aspirant Riya, he urged justice for affected families, alleging widespread exam irregularities and accusing the government of failing to curb paper leaks.

New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that paper leaks have caused immense pain to several families, stressing that the examination system needs to be rebuilt to ensure security for students and justice for parents.

In a post shared on X, Gandhi recalled his interaction with the father of Riya, a student who allegedly died by suicide following the NEET paper leak controversy, and said the incident reflected the suffering of many families.

"Riya's father, Rajesh ji, was shattered by the loss of his daughter in such a way that every person who saw him had tears in their eyes. This is not just the pain of one family. The paper leak has snatched children away from many such families," Gandhi wrote.

"Behind every name is a mother, a father--for whom there is no tomorrow now. This system will have to be rebuilt from scratch--where children find not stress, but security. And for parents, the fruit of their sacrifice should be theirs--not tears," he added.
