When a Delhi court was considering Sengar’s plea to temporarily suspend his life sentence, Trehan had demonstrated at Jantar Mantar with placards reading ‘I support Kuldeep Sengar’. She had argued that politics should be stopped on sensitive matters like rape and the decisions of the courts should be respected at all costs, due to which women’s organizations had strongly criticized her. When the Delhi Police personnel were taking Trehan into custody and taking him towards the vehicle, he cried with folded hands and alleged that he was beaten up by the people present there. During this entire uproar, while Barkha Trehan was seen raising slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’, on the other hand activist Abhijeet Deepke, drenched in blue ink, reiterated his resolve to continue his fast by raising slogans of ‘Jai Bhim’, calling blue his favorite colour.
