The global sensation and Grammy winner, Shakira, set the 2026 World Cup final halftime show on fire as billions tuned in to watch her perform. The 49 year old pop star broke viewership records with her performance as her ex boyfriend and the father of her two children, Gerard Piqué, looked uncomfortable as he watched perform. Amid this, her recent statement on heartbreak has moved fans.

The global sensation added, “Behind every experience in life, there's always a lesson, and we have to be grateful for all those lessons, even for the people that leave you with scars…because they just make us better.”

The multiple Grammy winner, Shakira, continued, “I would say to that girl back in her 20s to enjoy more, to believe in herself more. I think women, as time goes by, we just acquire this new confidence. Even though we don't look as perfect as in our 20s, it's beautiful to just be yourself and accept who you are.”

Over the last few years, Shakira has often spoken about how being in a relationship with Gerard Piqué for over a decade has only “dragged her down” in her life.
