Petrol pumps offer facilities for ‘filter paper tests’ and ‘density tests.’ If a few drops of petrol placed on filter paper evaporate completely without leaving a stain, the petrol is considered pure. Additionally, quality can be checked by examining the density register available at the petrol pump. If any discrepancy is suspected, customers can lodge a complaint with the respective oil company or the consumer helpline.

How much have petrol and diesel prices changed?

There have been no major changes in petrol and diesel prices in the country since the beginning of 2026. So far, there has been an increase of approximately ₹8 per liter.
